Jayss Rajoo is a true marketer with extensive experience in band strategy, marketing planning, revenue and creative responsibilities.Currently the director of marketing and food innovation at Pizza Hut, Rajoo’s role at the company is truly a balancing act as she manages reviewing business growth with media data. She also helps in formulating plans to help the brand grow and has her fingers dipped in the creative side of brand management. Beyond her eCommerce led duties, she also oversees several of the creative aspect of the brand – from content creation to media asset creations. Rajoo is also a believer in adapting of processes regularly, to ensure that the brand is primed for its ecommerce channels. For instance, her team refreshed and relaunched its individual meal platform, which saw the sales contribution grow from 0.1% to 10%.Content creation is one of Rajoo’s passions, something she claims to be an advocate of. One of her favourite memories that brought together innovation and content creation was when she engaged a group of interns from NTU to help create a mini-web series on TikTok – where brand presence was intentionally soft and subtle. The interns had full creative ownerships of the series and even filmed, edited and produced the series themselves. This was in conjunction with the launch of Pizza Hut’s annual Cheesy 7 campaign. The campaign was wildly successful, garnering over two million views, over 40,000 likes, and 250,000 from a base of close to zero, all within the span of a month. They achieved record sales for the campaign that year.Innovation and transformation are central to Rajoo’s job. Whether it is product innovation in terms of menu management or upping the tech aspects through new mar-tech ecosystems. As such, Rajoo is involved in the operations of Pizza Hut’s business be it via partners, media management, creative agencies, e-commerce platforms agencies, CRM or CLM agencies.
