Kelvin Hong

Kelvin Hong has a solid track record of achievements with global brands spanning over 25 years of international brand and marketing experience. Currently based out of Jakarta, he delivers brand results wherever he goes based on his penetrating insights for consumer needs on a very deep DNA level and his sharp marketing foresights & vision. He is currently the Director of Marketing and Communications for A&W Restaurants, International, where he oversees the strategic brand efforts across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan.
Prior to this, Kelvin has worked over 10 years as Marketing Director for KFC’s chain of restaurants across Malaysia, Brunei and Myanmar. He entrenched KFC Malaysia’s dominant brand position within the competitive quick-service restaurant (QSR) space during his tenure and was also the pioneer team who helped set-up the online delivery sales platform. He carried this leadership position into KFC Myanmar and was imperative in setting up marketing/digital strategies and innovations that drove sales and a winning brand love with consumers within Myanmar as a late market QSR entrant. Kelvin has led his brand teams alongside with advertising and media partners into winning many coveted industry tittles and awards during his brand leadership across the past decade.
The earlier part of Kelvin’s career was spent with renowned international blue-chip companies such as Philip Morris, Nestle, Kimberly Clark and Sara Lee South East Asia with broad Asia Pacific accountabilities. Kelvin is an Honours Graduate from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Melbourne, Australia plus a post-graduate degree from Singapore. He writes in his free time for selected periodicals.
