Lay Ping Tan

Deputy Director (Communications Strategy and Engagement)

Lay Ping has over 20 years of experience in developing campaigns, programmes and engagement efforts for national policies and regional events. Her work has spanned various domains, including technology, media, economy, employment, sustainability and social issues.

In her current role as Deputy Director of Communications Strategy and Engagement at NTUC, she leads efforts to advance the labour movement cause through the development of impactful communications and engagement strategies leveraging research and data driven insights.

Prior to NTUC, she held key strategic roles in the public service where she spearheaded successful campaigns, events, business and talent development initiatives. As Deputy Director at the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), she led PR, marketing communications and engagement efforts to further MSF’s mission to make Singapore a great place for families and foster an inclusive society.

Before joining MSF, Lay Ping was responsible for PR and crisis communications at PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency and Coastal Protection Agency.

At the Infocomm Media Development Authority, she led regional campaigns and pioneered innovative programmes and partnerships to shape Singapore’s digital future as a dynamic digital economy.
