Top Tips for a Successful Entry

We know it takes time (and plenty of coffee!) to craft a submission that stands out and impresses an independent judging panel. To help, here are 10 practical tips to guide you in shaping a clear and compelling entry:

1. Stick to the word limit
Judges go through many entries, which takes hours of focus. Keep yours concise so your key points shine through. Kindly note that marks can be deducted should you exceed the word limit.
2. Use images and graphs to support your entry
Images, charts, and graphs can communicate your message quickly and effectively, while helping you cut down on long explanations.
3. Don’t assume the judges know your campaign
Provide context. Judges can only assess what’s in your entry, so spell out the essentials and give them the clarity they need.
4. Stick to the specific eligibility dates / locations
Be specific. Results outside the eligibility period or location can’t be scored, so break down exactly what happened within the given timeframe.
5. Report specific results
Precision matters. Percentages are useful, but real numbers and achievements against targets help judges understand your campaign’s impact. Confidential data will stay within the judging panel.

All judges are bound by non-disclosure agreements and you can highlight any work that is to remain strictly confidential and for judging purposes only. Anything highlighted in red will not be disseminated beyond the judging panel in any way.

6. Cover all criteria
Each entry is scored against set criteria. Address every point to make sure you’re not leaving marks on the table.
7. Tailor your submission to the specific category
If you’re entering the same campaign into multiple categories, adapt your submission to highlight what matters most in each one. A single version doesn’t always fit all.
8. Use the templates provided
Our templates are designed to save you time and keep judges focused on what counts — your work and results. A simple, well-structured entry beats an overdesigned deck.
9. Double check your entry
Check your entry thoroughly. Missing sections or broken links could prevent judges from seeing your full story.
10. Plan your schedule and enter on time!
Late entries can’t be accepted, so give yourself enough time to prepare. Starting early means fewer mistakes and a smoother submission process.

We wish you the very best of luck with your entries!
