Marcus is charged with keeping business growing in Southeast Asia for Beam Suntory, one of the world’s great distillery groups.
As the company’s main regional dealmaker, Marcus works on developing commercial relationships with distributors, key accounts along with strategic brand and commercial partners in Singapore and across the region.
With oversight over marketing and commercial decisions, his collegiate approach centres on ensuring both departments complement one another to achieve business success.
Marcus first cut his teeth in a business development role at Barcardi, where he devised experiential marketing campaigns to build brand equity in emerging ASEAN markets. At William Grant & Sons, where he was last Head of Marketing for Southeast Asia, he was part of the team that established a beachhead for brands like Hendrick’s gin, Monkey Shoulder and Glenfiddich in Southeast Asia, doubling commercial growth year-on-year.
Under Marcus’ charge, WGS was awarded numerous marketing awards including the Event Marketer of the Year 2015 by Marketing Magazine and ‘The Glenfiddich Experience’, a brainchild of the Southeast Asian marketing team, was established as a global best practice for the brand.
Marcus previously worked at leading independent PR firm ICON International Communications and has the distinction of being certified in whisky-making by Moray College, a renowned Scottish university.
