Jean Yip Group

Fronting homegrown brand Jean Yip Group as group operations and marketing director is Dawn Yip, more popularly recognisable as a young starlet in the 1980’s.

In 1979, she won the National Singing Contest organised by then RTS – Radio Television Singapore – and started her singing career with Record Label EMI, and thereafter WEA & BMG. Still a student at the National University of Singapore, she performed and represented Singapore in many Asian and international events.

In 1988 she was awarded “Best Female Vocalist” by the Singapore’s Composers Association. Apart from these honourable titles, Dawn was Resident Judge and Mentor to male and female champions of “Project Superstar”- a singing competition by Mediacorp Channel U featuring aspiring youths taking part to pursue music as a career. She has also judged for various enterprise, marketing and promotion awards. Notable ones include 企业之星, 清华校友, Start Up Enterprise award, and more.

These days, expanding a heritage brand like Jean Yip Group has been priority. As the marketing and operations director, she has helped achieve several milestones & awards with many of Singapore’s Top Brand Awards such as SPBA – Heritage Brand, SuperBrands, Readers Digest Trusted Brands and Influential Brands. Jean Yip Group has since expanded to more than 70 outlets & offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Japan.

Today, the Jean Yip Group umbrella consists of brands – Oriental Hair Solutions, 6 Elements Hair Spa, Jean Yip Loft, Cheryl W Wellness & Weight Management – all of which provide services and products to meet the beauty, wellness & lifestyle needs of modern consumers.

Heavily involved in altruistic causes, Dawn was engaged in community services such as the Special Angel Project Team for Fund Raising for Caritas, Boon Lay Community Welfare & Dept Fund Raising Program and more.

Despite vested interests in the operations of a household name, Dawn continues to pursue the finer things in life such as traveling, reading, lifestyle and fashion which she enjoys sharing on her social media pages.
