Ravel Lai is an IT and digital veteran with more than 29 years of experience in retail and consumer products, including consumer electronics, food and beverage, FMCG, fashion houses and shopping malls. Appointed Chief Digital Officer in February 2019, he is in charge of leading its technology strategy as well as other businesses, Laputa Technologies and TPA (advertising agency).

He drives digital ambitions by blending IT and digital elements throughout all business units, primarily focusing on customer relationship management, marketing effectiveness, supply chain optimisation and enterprise risk management. These involve reshaping corporate culture to be innovative and collaborative among 17,000 staff across 12 Asian economies.

Before joining Dah Chong, he was the Regional IT and Digital Director at a leading restaurant group in Asia. His digital initiatives have landed awards and accolades from industry partners, especially in digital and social media marketing and digital transformation. He was named China’s top CIO in 2016 and one of the top 50 innovative retail leaders in Hong Kong in 2017.
