As Plaza Premium Group\u2019s Chief Transformation Officer, Mei Mei Song has been instrumental in driving strategic direction and transforming experiences for the company, founded by her father Song Hoi-see in 1998.<\/p>\n
In her role, Mei Mei focuses on creating value-added experiences for travellers, growing the brand portfolio, leading PPG’s journey to ESG, and spearheading PPG\u2019s long-term vision with a focus on people, technology, and sustainability. She lives and breathes the Group mission of \u2018making travel better, together\u2019. She oversees four teams: sustainability, marketing, brand, and communications.<\/p>\n
As a member of the company\u2019s steering committee and as the next generation of PPG, Mei Mei is committed to growing the company\u2019s award-winning airport hospitality portfolio globally by listening to the needs of travellers and developing a culture of communications internally and externally.<\/p>\n
During her decade-long tenure with PPG, Mei Mei led the successful brand repositioning of Plaza Premium Lounge ahead of its global expansion, expanded the range of in-lounge services to cater to different travellers\u2019 needs (voted the world\u2019s best independent lounge by Skytrax eight years running), and launched of the company\u2019s first Arrivals lounge, as well as Aerotel, the world\u2019s first in-terminal airport hotel with flexible hours to accommodate different travel patterns. She was also instrumental in shifting ALLWAYS Meet & Greet to cover a more expansive portfolio of airport passenger services. More recently, Mei Mei introduced innovative hospitality concepts including: Intervals, the world\u2019s first airport cocktail bar and the \u2018proudly local\u2019 initiative, positioning lounges as a platform to showcase local cultures through art, food and community.<\/p>\n
Before joining PPG, Mei Mei worked in journalism as the online editor of Tatler<\/em> writing on fashion, travel, wine, etiquette and watches.
