Angie Chung

General Manager, Central Market

Chinachem Group

Angie Chung is the General Manager of Central Market, Chinachem Group. Her accomplishments include managing the launch and branding of the revitalised project in 2021 and she currently oversees the core functions of the heritage building, including areas such as marketing, leasing, F&B operations and facility management. She also incorporates dining, shopping, placemaking, cultural and innovative activities to implement a successful “retail-tainment” environment for the project. The collective efforts of Central Market, alongside the Urban Renewal Authority, numerous architects, conservationists and cross business functions have turned the 80-year-old, Grade 3 Historic Building into a vibrant community hotspot that exemplifies the concept of a “Playground for All”.

Angie has a deep understanding of branding, marketing strategy, digital innovations, event & tenant management, customer experience, CSR and placemaking initiatives. Prior to her current position, Angie has held key marketing positions in various corporations, including Sino Group, Link REIT, Swire Properties and Hong Kong Jockey Club. She has also led the marketing team for the Lee Tung Avenue redevelopment project during its opening launch. Various campaigns were curated for the event, which quickly became the talk of the town and has since obtained over 100 awards.

Angie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, with a major in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Sydney, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Manchester Business School. She has been awarded the HKMA/TVB Award for Marketing Excellence, and is the current Vice Chairman of the Institute of Shopping Centre Management, and is a part of various industry societies such as the Hong Kong Management Association and the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing
